Hello family, friends, and loved ones,
The past few months have required all of us to make major adjustments to our lives, our plans, and our hopes and dreams, and we are thinking of you and praying for your well being, safety, and happiness every day. We are continuing to monitor the safety of travel and attendance for our revised August 29th date at the original wedding venue, and we will do everything in our power to keep everyone in attendance safe, whenever that date may be.
While the pandemic has forced us to rethink so many things, Chloe and I simply refused to allow it to take the joy of officially starting our married lives together away from us. We are excited to announce that we will be conducting our wedding ceremony in Stamford, CT and live streaming the event for all to virtually attend on Saturday, June 6 at 5:30PM.
We are thrilled to invite you to attend our virtual ceremony this coming weekend!
Please visit www.samandchloe.com on Saturday, June 6 to watch the live stream from 5:30PM to 6:00PM. In the event you are unable to attend at that time, or if there happen to be any technical issues with streaming the ceremony, a link to the recording will be posted on that site as well.
This ceremony would not be possible without the incredible help of our families, friends, and loved ones, and we’d like to take a moment now and during our ceremony to thank everyone who is making our wedding a reality in these surreal times. First, long time family friend and United States Circuit Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the Honorable Barrington D. Parker, Jr., has graciously offered to remotely officiate the wedding. Next, our music teacher and esteemed jazz musician Chris Dingman will be playing vibraphones during the processional and recessional. Additionally, my amazing friends and colleagues in the Greenwich Country Day School Technology team have provided advice and equipment to facilitate live streaming the ceremony. To our very small gathering of family that are able to attend the physically distanced ceremony, we are grateful for all of your support and love throughout this process. Finally, to all of our relatives, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who are attending remotely, whether you are distancing for your own protection or to protect others, we cannot say enough how much we love you and miss you all.
Sending you our very best,
Sam and Chloe
On a fine October evening, a dear friend named Charlie had the wonderful idea of setting up one of his mates visiting from Australia with one of his coworkers. Sam, Charlie's friend going back to high school days, thought he would tag along, offering this world traveler his services as a wing man to help guide Cupid's aim.
Charlie, Sam, and their guest arrived at the bar in Manhattan and watched as a crowd swelled, the three amigos scanning the sea for Charlie's mysterious coworker. Young women and men from the polished offices of New York financial firms strutted their stuff and drank upscale cocktails. Sam felt increasingly out of place, ruffling his hair with his hands as he waited back in his jeans, t-shirt, and grey GCDS jacket he wore to work nearly every day. Needless to say, he did not think he was out looking for love.
When he first saw her, Sam felt magnetically drawn to Chloe. She wore a grey T-shirt with a bright red N, the logo for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and sported a University of Virginia class ring on her right hand. Chloe was radiant, with eyes like sunlight breaking through a forest canopy and a smile that lifted his heart into the stratosphere. Sam made a beeline towards her and, as luck would have it, they instantly struck up a conversation. Music, politics, and so much more; Chloe's humor mixed with her deeply intellectual and passionate character left Sam floored, and he only wanted to learn and share more with this impossibly perfect match. "So this is how fate works," he thought to himself.
Charlie, bewildered by the magnetism that had drawn the two together, abruptly interjected, "Sam, this is my coworker, Chloe!"
So there you have it: the story of how Sam screwed up a gig as wing man one fine October night in 2016, and how Charlie inadvertently introduced him to Chloe, the woman of his dreams and the love of his life.
